No, our snacks are extruded and not fried.

What is the percentage of lentils in the sticks?

Around 40- 42% (depending on the flavour).

How many calories do your crisps have?

92- 94kcal per serving. Depends on the flavour, but always under 100kcal per 20g!

Are your crisps gluten-free?

Our main ingredients are gluten-free but we can’t guarantee that the products do not contain any gluten as the factory manufactures other products with wheat (gluten).

Are your crisps GMO-free?

Yes, indeed!

Do you use any preservatives, artificial flavours, or colours in your crisps?

No, all our ingredients are natural to have a clean label.

Are your snacks vegetarian? Vegan? Plant-based?

Yes, our snacks are suitable for vegans and vegetarians. They are Vegan and Plant-Based certified by the Vegetarian Society.

Are lentils a superfood?

We can say yes! Lentils are high in protein and fibre and low in fat. They're also packed with folate, iron, phosphorus, manganese, potassium, and fibre. Lentils are also low in sodium and saturated fat, and high in plant chemicals called polyphenols that have antioxidant activity.

What are the differences between  your crisps and regular fried potato crisps?

Our snacks are not fried but baked (extruded) so we have 40% less fat than regular fried crisps (leading brand on the market). Furthermore, our snacks contain 50% more protein than average potato crisps.

How do you compare yourselves with other crisps?

On average our crisps have less calories, less fat and more protein. See below a comparison chart:

Are there allergens in your crisps?

We don’t have any allergens in the ingredients list. But all of our snacks  might contain traces of milk and gluten due to the facility being close to those substances.

Do you use iodized salt in your production?

No, we don't.

How should I store the crisps once opened?

Better to keep them closed in a cool and dry place.

Which manufacturer certifications do you have?

Our manufacturer has the IFS food certificate. We are committed to food safety standards by monitoring all phases of production. In fact, we work only with accredited factories (BRC, ISO 22000, IFS) as we make sure that all our ingredients comply with local laws.

We source ingredients from suppliers where agriculture standards are well controlled and we work with production partners who minimise the waste and who minimise the usage of electricity and other fuels.

Who draws the illustrations on your crisps packs?

Right from the start, we wanted our packaging to be as empowering as our product. That’s why we asked Bodil Jane (and were mighty relieved when she said yes!).

The real inspiration for her illustrations, though, is you! Yes, you. Bodil is inspired by the people around her, so if you’ve ever taken a trip to Holland, you might have sparked a doodle in her mind. Her main focus is women. Look closely and you’ll notice the characters on your chip pack are always thinking about something.

The best thing about Bodil? She sees cute as empowering and inclusive – that’s good enough for us!

What is the climate footprint of your snacks?

We measure our climate footprint by measuring every process of creating and distributing our products to retailers via partners such as Carbon Cloud. We also work very closely with manufacturers to offset their processes as well.

What is the average climate footprint a person emits?

The average climate footprint someone causes in their daily lives is approx. 5 tonnes of CO2 per capita per year in the UK. See an article about this here.

Why are you a net-positive snack?

We are a net-positive snack as we offset more than we use to create our products. Our climate foot print is 0.20g and when we plant a tree for every pack we sell the amount of climate footprint we contribute is offset by 20kg of the tree.

How do you calculate your CO2 offset values?

CO2 offset values are always estimations, even when certified. Many factors influence the amount of CO2 a tree can capture: the species, its variety, but also the climate and the region where it’s planted, among multiple other factors.

In the forestry sector, carbon sequestration is usually calculated per hectare. Our planting partners have developed their own method to provide a CO2 value per unique tree so they can link your support to both CO2 and trees.

For each species in a specific project, we take into account the type of climate of the region, tree height, trunk diameter, growth pattern (fast or slow-growing), and CO2 period for the tree. For this CO2 period, we consider most carbon is captured in the growth period of a tree. This growth period can last 10 to 35 years, depending on the species. For our calculation, we only consider this period and we cap it at 20 years, so no carbon after 20 years is accounted for. It means the trees we plant will offset more than what is accounted for.

How can I offset my carbon emissions?

Since an average person emits approx. 5 tonnes of CO2 per year, you can purchase 250 packs or 11 cases of our 100g products.

What are green jobs?

Green jobs are works that are carried out to protect our planet and grow non animal derived foods such as our snacks. We also support these jobs not only by the people who grow our ingredients but also to part of ur supply chain from the people who remove plastic from our oceans to the people who plant our trees globally.

How do you donate to charities?

We joined 1% for the Planet because our mission is to make delicious plant-based foods that support social & environmental causes. We are excited to be part of a network of businesses that share our company values and make a difference altogether.

We want to make net-positive snacking the norm, in fact every time you purchase our snacks, we offset our entire production process by removing 1 ocean-bound bottle for every pack sold and by planting new forests.

We are delighted to donate also 1% of our sales to 1% for the Planet Impact Fund to leave a positive legacy. We are ready to drive true on-the-ground change within six core issue areas: climate, food, land, pollution, water, and wildlife", says Bobby Patel, founder of Human Nature.
